Salt Box Colonial
Traditional Colonial Styles were also in the portfolio where suitable for the area. I built my own home in 1990, a Reproduction Salt Box Colonial, which incorporated all of the architectural details to have the appearance of a 200 year old home. A massive center chimney that contained five (5) fireplaces was the first to catch the eye. Stone walls, brick walkways and granite steps were part of the landscape scheme. The interior had wide pine flooring, reproduction millwork, wainscoting, built-in bookcases and ornate mantles. All door hardware was reproduction wrought iron with thumb latch handles and HL hinges.
